Whether you are hosting at home or at a location of your choosing, a private Mahjong event or class is a memorable way to gather your group. We provide the tiles, supplies, and expert instruction. You provide the space and guests for an unforgettable time!
Private Event Booking Details
Looking for a unique way to celebrate with friends? Whether you’re planning a birthday, bridal shower, girls’ night, team-building event, or simply want to learn Mahjong together, private events offer a personalized experience for your group.
Pricing & Capacity
Private events are available for 4, 8, or 12 guests. In addition, I provide everything needed to learn and play, including professional Mahjong sets, instructional materials, current National Mahjong cards, and my signature Mahjong 101 handbook. Pricing is $50 per person.
Host Perk
If you’ve previously taken one of my Mahjong 101 classes and book a private event with 8 or more guests, your spot is complimentary! Fill two tables, and the host plays for free.
Location Options
Choose the location that works best for you! For example, I can travel to your home or venue, or you can host your event in my private teaching space. If you need tables and chairs, I can bring those too for an additional $50 rental fee. However, chairs and tables are provided if event is at my home studio.
Travel Details
Travel within 20 miles of Shelby Township is included, however, events outside this area are subject to a travel fee.

What’s Included in Your Private Mahjong Event
This three-hour beginner-friendly class includes hands-on instruction designed for players with absolutely no prior experience. During the event, you’ll learn tile recognition, setup, the Charleston, game play, basic strategy, and Mahjong etiquette in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Each participant will receive:
• 3-hour guided Mahjong lesson
• Mahjong 101 Handbook to take home for continued practice
• Hands-on game play with instructor guidance
• Prizes, giveaways, and plenty of fun!
A 2026 National Mahjong League card is required for this class. If you do not already have one, you may purchase a card as an add-on when registering for your ticket. However, if you already have your 2026 National Mahjong League card, please bring it with you to the lesson.
Hosting Details
Whether you choose to host your private Mahjong event at a venue of your choice or at my Mahjong home studio, the event host is responsible for providing any food and beverages you would like to offer your guests. You are welcome to keep it simple or make it as festive as you’d like!
Attendance Policy
To ensure the best experience for everyone, only guests who are registered and have paid for the class may attend. The only exception is for babies in arms, who are always welcome to accompany a registered guest.
Gather your friends, and we’ll take care of the rest. Once your date is secured, our team will reach out to finalize the event details and create a private booking link for your guests. This way, the sign-up process feels simple and seamless. Whether you’re looking to learn a new hobby, meet new friends, or join the growing Mahjong community, this class is the perfect place to start.
